  1. Cultured neurons, astrocytes and microglia were prepared from the cerebra of Wistar rats and total RNA was extracted. The copy numbers of chemokine mRNA were determined by quantitative RT-PCR. The copy numbers of G3PDH mRNA in the same samples were also determined as an internal standard. Data are the mean ± SEM of 6 to 10 different preparations presented as ×103 copy numbers/μg total RNA.
