On day postimmunization 8 (dpi 8), before the onset of clinical signs, all of the animals were randomly divided into two groups and subcutaneously dosed daily for 8 days (dpi 8 to 15) with 10 mg/kg Ilantide-t (n = 17) or 1 ml/kg phosphate-buffered saline vehicle (n = 16).
