Effect of Ilantide on interleukin 1β-induced nitric oxide production. Anakinra (A) but none of the peptides, Ilantide-m (B) or Ilantide-t (C), inhibited interleukin 1β (IL-1β)-induced nitric oxide production. Nitrites were measured in the supernatants using data derived from the experiments presented in Figure 7. The results of four independent experiments are shown. *P < 0.05 and **P < 0.01 compared with cultures treated with IL-1 alone (one-way analysis of variance followed by Dunnett’s post hoc test).
