Systemic lipopolysaccharide (LPS) altered retinal vessel development in neonatal rats. A. The lectin staining of the retinal whole mounts from P7 and P14 rats showed that centrifugal growth of retinal vessels was significantly reduced by postnatal systemic LPS administration as measured by the length of vessels between the optic nerve and the peripheral vascular edge.
