Surgery-induced IL-1β and IL-6 expression. Four-month-old Fischer 344 rats were subjected to right carotid artery exposure under isoflurane anesthesia with or without intravenous lidocaine. Hippocampus was harvested at six hours after surgery. A: representative western blot images, B: graphic presentation of IL-1β results, C: graphic presentation IL-6 results.
