Although this animal apparently had no ischemic brain injury, there is a clear signal enhancement of the temporal muscle (white arrow) on the right side (B1). The signal changes are consistent with severe ischemia due to ECA ligation. Note the involution of the temporal muscle (white arrow) after one week (B2).
