DAF suppresses the expression of activated caspase in neurons exposed to chemical hypoxia. Primary rat cortical neurons were exposed to glucose free medium containing 1.5 mM NaCN for 1 hr then allowed to recover overnight in normal medium with or without DAF. (a) Cell lysates were analyzed by immunoblot using anti-active caspase-3, anti-caspase-9, and anti-β-actin antibodies. (b) Data was quantified by densitometry (n = 10).
