Stimulation with acLDL, polystyrene beads, and LPS induces shifts in proportions of Aβ40 variants. The graph depicts the sum of proportions of the 4 different Aβ40 variants after stimulation with LPS, acLDL and polystyrene beads. Note that this sum decreases upon stimulation but remains almost unaffected by the different stimuli accounting for about 60% of Aβtotal. Nonetheless, strong shifts are visible within single Aβx-40 variants resulting in a stimulus-specific signature. Especially the proportion of the Aβ peptide migrating at spot 6.37-F - presumably a variant of Aβ2-40 (Aβ2-40a) - shows strong stimulus-dependent shifts.
