Vascular meteorin expression is affected during EAE in the lumbar spinal cord. Meteorin immunoreactivity is closely associated with many blood vessels and appears to completely surround blood vessels in naive rats (A, arrowhead). In addition there are a few branched cells in the parenchyma expressing meteorin, which resemble astrocytes (arrows, A).
