Involvement of p38 and p44/42 (ERK1/2) in cytokine and chemokine production by virus-infected primary murine microglia. Microglial cell cultures pretreated with inhibitors of p38 (SB203580 or its negative control SB202474) or ERK1/2 (U1026 or its negative control U0124) MAPKs for 30 min prior to viral infection. At 16 h p.i., supernatants were collected and assessed for A) TNF-α or 36 h for B) IL-1β, C) CCL2, and D) CXCL10 production using ELISA.
