Activated Fluoro-Jade B in brain. (A) Brain sections were stained with Fluoro-Jade B, a marker of cell death, and quantitated in cortex and dentate gyrus. The Fluoro-Jade B fluorescence in cortex and dentate gyrus was increased by ethanol, poly I:C and sequential ethanol-poly I:C. The results are the means ± SEM of two independent experiments performed with seven mice per group. **P <0.01, compared with vehicle control. ## P <0.01, compared with poly I:C.
