Early neutrophil infiltration into the injured spinal cord does not appear to differ between wild-type and IL-11Rα-deficient mice. Myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity in the spinal cord is not significantly different between injured wild-type (n = 5) and injured IL-11Rα-deficient (n = 5) mice 24 hours post-SCI, although injured mice demonstrate significantly greater MPO activity compared to uninjured wild-type control mice (n = 5).
