Blinded quantification of the inflammatory index after HE-staining, CD3 positive cells, Mac-3 positive macrophages/microglia, iNOS positive cells, demyelination after Luxol Fast Blue staining and axonal densities after silver impregnation were performed on day 15 p.i. marking the acute phase of the disease.
