Persistent behavioral hypersensitivity induced by local injection of CFA emulsion into the tongue. Shown are the time course of changes in mechanical head withdrawal threshold (MHWT, A) and heat head withdrawal threshold (HHWT, B) in both saline- and CFA-treated groups. Compared with the saline control, CFA injection into the tongue elicited a significant reduction of MHWT and HHWT, with a peak reached at 8 day after treatment. Pre: baseline. n = 7 in each group.
