Similar central nervous system recruitment of leukocytes in CD4 depleted B7-H1 −/− mice. B7-H1−/− infected mice were treated with α-CD4 or control α-βgal monoclonal antibody at 4 and 6 days post-infection (p.i.). CNS-infiltrating cells were analyzed by flow cytometry from pooled brains. Numbers of (A) total CD45hi CNS-infiltrating cells, (B) CD45hiF4/80+ macrophages, (C) CD8 T cells and (D) virus-specific Db/S510 tetramer+ CD8 T cells are shown. Data depict the mean ± SEM of two independent experiments with at least three mice per time point per experiment. Significant differences were determined by the unpaired t-test. * P<0.05 and ** P<0.005. NS = not significant.
