Representative photomicrographs of the retinas from a pair of eyes from one mouse: healthier retinal structure was indicated by less photoreceptor cell degeneration (white asterisks), fewer retinal lesions (arrows) and a thicker retinal outer layer in the treated eye (right) in comparison to the untreated eye (left), which shows a larger area (blankets) with loss of photoreceptor cells two months after TSG-6 injection.
