Figure 4From: Up-regulation of microglial cathepsin C expression and activity in lipopolysaccharide-induced neuroinflammation The expression and release of Cat C were induced following LPS, IL-1β and IL-6 treatments in BV-2 cells and primary microglial cells. The levels of Cat C in cell lysates and culture medium were measured by ELISA. The expression levels of Cat C in lysates of BV-2 cells and primary microglial cells were showed at six hours after treatment with LPS (A, 0 to 100 ng/mL), IL-1β (B, 0 to 10 ng/mL) and IL-6 (C, 0 to 10 ng/mL), respectively. The levels of Cat C in the medium of BV-2 cells and primary microglial cells after the same treatments were showed in D, E and F, respectively. * or #: P < 0.05, ** or ##: P < 0.01, compared with untreated control. Data were expressed as mean + SEM from three independent experiments. Cat C, cathepsin C; ELISA, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay; LPS, lipopolysaccharide.Back to article page
