Treg depletion has no impact on viral clearance. Viral load in the infected brain was determined by quantification of Theiler’s murine encephalomyelitis virus (TMEV) RNA by RT-PCR. No significant differences in viral RNA copy numbers between Treg-depleted (diphtheria toxin; DT) or non-depleted mice (PBS) was observed either at 3 days post inoculation (dpi) or 7 dpi. In either case, the virus was efficiently eliminated as demonstrated by significantly lower number of viral RNA transcripts at 7 dpi. Five mice from each group were analyzed.
