(A) In control corneas the corneal epithelium (epi), stroma, and endothelium (endo) are well organized and show no signs of pathology. (B) At three days post-blast wave exposure, the epi is disorganized and the stroma contains neutrophils. (C) At 28 days post-blast wave exposure the epi is thin and blood vessels are evident in the stroma. The scale bar in (A) is 50 μm and also applies to (B) and (C).
