From: Neuromelanin activates proinflammatory microglia through a caspase-8-dependent mechanism
Expression of pattern-recognition receptors in response to synthetic neuromelanin. mRNA levels were quantified using real-time RT-PCR. BV2 cells were cultured for 24 h and then treated with 1 μg/ml of neuromelanin for 12 h and (B) 24 h. Results are mean ± standard deviation of three independent experiments, and are expressed as percentage of control values.
