Role of NOD2 receptor in mediating inflammatory molecule release from microglia exposed to B. burgdorferi. Primary microglia were co-incubated with 15 nM NOD2 or CTL siRNA for 24 h, followed by B. burgdorferi infection for an additional 24 h. Supernatants were collected 24 h post infection and analyzed for chemokine and cytokine expression. A representative pattern from five independent experiments from four animals is shown. Bars represent standard deviation. NOD2 ligand MDP was used as a positive control for NOD2 mediated effects. *P < 0.05; **P < 0.01; ***P < 0.001.
