  1. A total of 28 patients with severe TBI were recruited in the study for longitudinal collection of CSF and serum. The following clinical parameters were recorded: Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS): severe ≤8. Injury Severity Score (ISS): 0 = no injury, 75 = maximal untreatable injury. Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended (GOSE): 1 = dead, 2 = vegetative state, 3 = lower severe disability, 4 = upper severe disability, 5 = lower moderate disability, 6 = upper moderate disability, 7 = lower good recovery, 8 = upper good recovery
