Methamphetamine induces HMGB1-mediated migration of astrocytes. The wound-healing assay showed that methamphetamine increased cell migration in a time-dependent manner in C6 cells (a) as well as in primary human astrocytes (b). c–d Transfection of C6 cells with siHMGB1 resulted in the inhibition of the methamphetamine-mediated induction of C6 cell migration. Scale bars all indicate 500 μm. The gap width from three separate experiments was quantitatively evaluated using Image J software.
