Increased [18F]DPA-714 uptake is seen ipsilateral to the QA injury site in a (solid black arrows). No qualitative differences in uptake between the Tg and WT rats are seen. Areas of uptake in a, b, and c (open arrows) are due to normal [18F]DPA-714 PET uptake in the choroid plexus within the ventricular system. Intense Iba1 immunofluorescent staining (increased size and number of activated microglia) in the QA-lesioned rat (d), with comparable staining of cells in middle-aged Tg (e) and age-matched WT (f) rats (scale bar 100 μm)
