Blockage of p42/44 MAPK but not NF-κB abrogates cell death caused by TNF-α. TNF-α causes significant cell death after 24 h of incubation (*P < 0.05 vs NT and TNF-α + PD98059), which is abrogated by PD98059. Treatment with NaSal does not prevent this cell death. A30P α-syn treated with TNF-α and NaSal shows a higher level of LDH release (# P < 0.05) vs A30P treated only with TNF-α. Graph shows mean ± SEM of six independent experiments. The results are expressed as a percentage of maximal LDH release activity obtained after complete cell lysis
