MRL/+ → MRL/lpr mice are rescued from systemic disease. Total IgG was reduced in MRL/+ → MRL/lpr mice to levels similar to MRL/+ → MRL/+ mice (a), as were anti-DNA antibodies (b) and renal histopathological scores (c, d). MRL/+ → MRL/lpr mice had improved renal function, demonstrated by BUN and albumin/creatinine ratios (e, f). Data in (b) is expressed as mean values, normalized to unmanipulated MRL/+ mice.
