The NLRP3 inflammasome was activated in the mouse diencephalon following LPS/swim challenge. The samples came from one mouse per experiment, and the results are representative of three independent experiments (a). NLRP3 expression levels (b) and Cas-p10 induction (c) were quantified by measuring band intensities using ImageJ software. The values were normalized to β-actin. d DAPI (blue), NLRP3 (green) and IL-1β (red) immunofluorescent staining in diencephalon sections; scale bar, 20 μm.
