Treatment with Pom significantly attenuated a glutamate-induced excitotoxicity-induced elevation of TNF-α protein in primary mixed cortical culture media. Treatment with Pom (100 μM), 30 min after the addition of glutamate (100 mM for 24 h) significantly reduced the levels of TNF-α protein detected in culture media. Media samples were obtained at 3, 6, and at 24 h after challenge with glutamate. Mean ± S.E.M.
