C3 induction by HIV in HFA requires activation of NF-κB. HFA were treated as indicated and a assayed for translocation of NF-κB into the nucleus by ELISA or b assayed for C3 promoter activity in the presence of adenovirus control vector or vector of dominant negative I-κBmt32. The differences in between untreated mock-infected and the other experimental groups were tested by one-way ANOVA and Dunnett’s post hoc analysis with asterisk indicating p < 0.05.
