Activation of GSDMD mediated pyroptosis in response to Aβ stimulation. RPE-choroid protein lysates from animals receiving either Aβ or control injections were probed with a GSDMD antibody. Compared to the control samples, Aβ significantly promoted the proteolytic cleavage of pro-GSDMD (53 kDa) into N-terminal GSDMD fragment (N-GSDMD, 30 kDa), a signature event indicating the activation of the pyroptotic pathway. GAPDH served as a loading control (36 kDa). Bands shown are technical triplicates of the same-pooled sample. N ≥ 3, Mann-Whitney, *p < 0.05
