From: RNS60 exerts therapeutic effects in the SOD1 ALS mouse model through protective glia and peripheral nerve rescue

Fig. 9

RNS60 augments Treg population in the spleen but not in LSC of C57BL/6-SOD1G93A mice. a, b Real-time PCR for typical markers of Treg in spleen of SOD1G93A mice expressed as 100% and transgenic mice treated with NS or RNS60. Treatment with RNS60 completely reverted the decrease of FoxP3 found in the spleen of SOD1G93A NS mice compared to NTG mice and markedly increased the levels of CD4+ T cells with respect to both the SOD1G93A NS and NTG mice. c, d On the contrary, we did not observe a significant difference for both markers between the two groups of transgenic mice in the LSC. Data are normalized to β-actin and expressed as the mean ± SEM change ratio between the two group of transgenic mice as percentage versus NTG (n = 5 mice per group). All data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA followed by post hoc Fisher’s LSD. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001, n.s. = non-significant
