ROS is required for PM2.5-induced IL-1β production and NLRP3 inflammasome activation in oAβ-stimulated microglia. LPS-primed microglia were stimulated with oAβ for 12 h. Then, microglia were treated with ROS scavenger NAC, NADPH oxidase inhibitor DPI, and mitochondria-targeted antioxidant MitoQ for 30 min before PM2.5 exposure for 4 h. a IL-1β concentration in the culture supernatant was measured by ELISA. b Caspase-1 activity was measured.
