Co-infection in the lung upregulates inflammatory cytokines/chemokines in the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus region of the brains was dissected from mice with saline (SAL), S. pneumoniae (SP), influenza A virus (IAV) or co-infection (SPIAV) treatment.
