FoxP3+ cells are observed in the spleen after MCAO and LIF treatment. Antibodies against FoxP3 were used to label Tregs in representative spleen tissue sections. Although FoxP3+ cells were found in representative tissue of sham-operated animals, there was noticeably more immunoreactivity for FoxP3 in spleens of MCAO + PBS and MCAO + LIF animals.
