ALX treatment reduces the infiltration of Th1 and Th17 cells in the lumbar enlargement of EAE mice. On day 25 post-induction, some mice from each group were sacrificed, and their spinal cord tissues were characterized for the content of infiltrated Th1 and Th17 cells by immunofluorescence using anti-IL-17 and anti-IFN-γ antibodies. The relative levels of IL-17 and IFN-γ expression in the spinal cord tissues were determined by western blot and quantitative RT-PCR. Data are representative images or expressed as the means ± SEM of each group (n = 5) from three separate experiments. a Immunofluorescent analysis of Th1 and Th17 cells in the spinal lumbar enlargement. b Western blot analysis of IL-17 and IFN-γ expression in the lumbar enlargement. c The relative levels of IFN-γ, T-bet, IL-17, and RORγt mRNA transcripts in the lumbar enlargement of individual mice. ※p < 0.05, *p < 0.01, #p < 0.001
