The perforated asymmetric synapse can be seen clearly, along with a distinct spine apparatus in the postsynaptic compartment. b C1q labeling is observed in both pre- and postsynaptic compartments of the same synaptic profile. The dendritic spine head of this profile can be seen emanating from a dendritic shaft containing mitochondria. Synapses are between arrows.
