For each of the tests, there was no statistically significant difference between the two treatment groups in the baseline values obtained prior to stroke induction (Mann-Whitney test). There was a difference in recovery between the olomoucine-treated and vehicle-treated rats identified from a statistically significant overall day X treatment interaction for the forelimb placing test (p < 0.02) and for both total success (p < 0.05) and first attempt success (p < 0.01) in the skilled reaching test (Linear mixed effects models). *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01 identifies individual days in which there was a significant difference between the two treatment groups
