Experimental timeline. Mice were fed either a high-fat diet (HFD) or a control diet (CTRL) for 7 weeks before 6-OHDA toxin (lesion) or vehicle infusion (sham) into the medial forebrain bundle (MFB) and maintained on the same diet throughout the study. Behavioral assessments were conducted 8–9 weeks post-lesion and glucose tolerance test (GTT) and blood sampling 10 weeks post-lesion corresponding to 17 weeks after induction of diet. The mice were sacrificed 14 weeks after the lesion corresponding to 21 weeks after induction of diet
