Am580 restores microglial homeostatic phenotype. A 5xFAD mice were implanted with pumps containing either Am580 or vehicle. 3 days later, mice were injected with LPS ICV. Mice were sacrificed on the following day for isolation of brain microglia, which were either stained for FACS analysis (BG) or cultured with LPS for 1 h for latex beads phagocytosis quantification (HJ). Am580 caused an increase in the fraction of neuroprotective (TREM2+) microglia in either wt and 5xFAD mice (BG, n = 3). Am580 induced an increase in microglial phagocytic activity.
