LD-RT treatment (10 Gy delivered in 5 daily fractions of 2 Gy) led to a drastic reduction of soluble and aggregated forms of amyloid peptides. This reduction is not due to an increase of the amyloid production. In addition, the non-amyloidogenic pathway was promoted by LD-RT. Finally, a restoration of on neuroinflammatory marker levels was measured. Altogether, those mechanisms could favor neuronal survival in TgAD rats.
