From: MHC class II expression and potential antigen-presenting cells in the retina during experimental autoimmune uveitis

Fig. 3

MHC class II is expressed at the level of the RPE layer and by cells infiltrating the vitreous. Three weeks after adoptive transfer, EAU eye cryosections were prepared and stained for MHC class II (green), IBA1 (red), or endoglin (magenta) detection. Cell nuclei were stained with Hoechst (blue). Each picture was chosen as representative of an experiment conducted on three or more animals. The DIC image was added to localize the RPE more precisely. a MHC class II and endoglin expression in the RPE region. Thin arrows point to the RPE layer, and thick arrows indicate choroidal vessels stained with endoglin. b MHC class II and IBA1 expression in the RPE region and corresponding DIC image. Thin arrows point to the RPE layer, and thick arrows indicate the choroid. c MHC class II and IBA1 expression by cells infiltrating the vitreous. Thin arrows indicate cells positive for both markers, and thick arrows point to cells positive for only one marker
