Adoptive transfer of bone marrow-derived GFP + MCs into c-Kitw-sh/cKitw-sh MC knockout (KO) mice caused significant increase in recruitment of systemic MCs to the injured brain 24 h after stroke. Flow cytometry analysis revealed that there is a significant increase in GFP + MCs numbers in the brain of the stroke compared to the sham MC KO mice (n = 3). Data are expressed as mean ± SEM, as well as individual values. Student’s t-test is used with normally distributed data to analyze statistical significance. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001
