For the three target genes (KL, NFKB1 and TNF) and the upregulation marker (GFAP), four independent comparisons were performed, since each reference gene was considered as an independent variable. The y-axis represents the quantitative data of the relative mRNA expression of the target molecules in sclerotic hippocampal tissues of the TLE(HS) patient group (n = 14) compared with the post mortem control group (n = 5).
