Astrocyte activation in the Grid2 Lc/+ cerebellum. Sagittal sections of wild-type (A) and Grid2Lc/+ (B) cerebella from 21-day-old mice were immunolabeled for glial fibrillary acidic protein. Strongly stained astrocytes have colonized the degenerating granular layer of the Grid2Lc/+cerebellum and surround blood vessels with their enlarged processes (arrows). Scale bars: 20 ÎĽm.
