CD95L concentrations were determined in crude cerebellum extracts from Grid2Lc/+(open bars) and wild-type (black bars) mice, by ELISA. (B) Representative time-course study of IL-6 levels in the cerebellum of Grid2Lc/+(open diamonds) and wild-type (black diamonds) mice. Levels were determined in a biological activity assay. Note that IL-6 levels begin to increase at the end of the period of massive neuron degeneration (shaded in gray; see Figure 4). The mean values for four determinations are shown, with range error bars.
