Secreted APP (sAPP) induces dose-dependent increases in the levels of IL-1β released from primary microglial cultures. Primary microglia were treated with the indicated doses of recombinant sAPPα for 24 h. Proteins in the medium were concentrated by Centricon filter and IL-1β was analyzed by western immunoblots.
