TGF-β1 attenuated Aβ-induced microglial clustering in a dose-dependent manner. BV-2 cells were treated with TGF-β1 for 1 h, followed by 10 μM aggregated Aβ25-35 for 24 h. Images of control, TGF-β1-, and Aβ-treated BV-2 cells, with and without TGF-β1 treatment, were taken with a phase-contrast microscope (A). Images were taken from four random fields with a phase-contrast microscope to quantify the number of microglial clusters (B). BV-2 cells were treated with TGF-β1 at different doses for 1 h, followed by aggregated Aβ25-35 or fibrillar Aβ1-42 for 24 h. The number of BV-2 clusters was counted.
