CNS-PNS transition as the border of inflammation. The arrows point to the CNS - PNS boundary of the spinal roots. Despite the severe involvement of both dorsal (DR) and ventral (VR) nerve roots, the inflammatory infiltration spares the adjacent central white matter and does not pass the PNS-CNS transition.
