Myelin inhibits lymphocyte proliferation in OVA-immunized animals. (a) OVA-immunized animals (N = 7) were treated with myelin at day -4, 0, 4 and 8 (or left untreated). Nine days post-immunization, OVA-reactivity of isolated lymph node cultures was assessed. Non-stimulated cultures were used as control. Data represent the mean of seven independent experiments. (b) NO production by LPS-stimulated popliteal lymph node cultures 9d post-immunization. Lymph node cultures were stimulated with LPS for 18 hr after which NO production in the supernatant was determined. Data represent the mean of seven independent experiments. Pop.
