Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) suppresses GABAergic inhibitory postsynaptic currents (IPSCs) through activating microglia. GABAergic miniature IPSCs (mIPSCs) recordings obtained from superficial spinal dorsal horn neurons before, during and after washout of LPS (1 μg/ml) in the absence (A) and presence (B) of minocycline (100 μM) are shown. (C) shows the mean (+SE) GABAergic mIPSC amplitude and frequency before (baseline), during and after washout of LPS. The mean amplitude and frequency in 2-minute bins during LPS perfusion are displayed. (D) shows the mean (+SE) GABAergic mIPSC amplitude and frequency before and during perfusion of LPS in the presence of minocycline.
